Stonehouse Woodworks: Antique Log and Timber Buildings
Heritage Log Homes
At Stonehouse Woodworks located in Golden, BC, we reclaim and restore heritage log homes. We are passionate about log home restoration and historic log buildings. Dave Stonehouse, owner of Stonehouse Woodworks, is specifically trained in log home restoration and the preservation of antique log houses and timber frame buildings. Dave has diverse experience and skilled knowledge in disassembling and salvaging heritage log homes. He has studied the history of log construction extensively and is experienced in documenting and disassembling heritage structures. The visible axe strokes, the faint pencil marks from the original builders, and the soft tones of the aged wood all combine to tell a story of a building’s history.
Original pioneer houses were built with hand hewn timber shaped from superior first growth forests. The trees that were used to build antique log houses, heritage barns and century old log cabins are of an unmatched quality and absolutely worthy of restoring and recycling.
